Derun Li

Derun Li is a seasoned professional in accelerator physics with extensive experience, currently serving as the General Accelerator R&D Program Manager at the U.S. Department of Energy since November 2022. Li has been with Berkeley Lab since April 1997, holding positions such as Senior Scientist, Director of the Berkeley Accelerator Controls and Instrumentation Center, Deputy Director of the Center for Beam Physics, and Staff Scientist. Educational qualifications include a Postdoctoral Researcher in Accelerator Physics and RF Technology at UC San Diego, a Ph.D. in Physics from Indiana University Bloomington, and multiple degrees in Accelerator Physics from Tsinghua University, including a Bachelor's and a Master's degree. Li's foundational education was completed at Taiyuan No. 15 High School.
