Evan Albert, P.E., MPA has extensive work experience in engineering and project management roles. Evan started their career as a Jr. Engineer and Assistant Engineer at the City of San Mateo, where they gained experience in private development review, stormwater analysis, and property acquisitions. Evan then progressed to roles as an Associate Engineer and Senior Engineer, managing professional services contracts, construction projects, and drafting administrative reports.

After their time at the City of San Mateo, Evan joined the City of Pacifica as the Deputy Director of Public Works, where they oversaw engineering, fleet, parks, beaches, and facilities. Evan managed a diverse team of 25 staff members and 50+ projects, including disaster response projects for sea bluff erosion and infrastructure failures.

Evan then transitioned to the United States Department of Defense as a General Engineer, performing project design, cost estimates, and construction engineering studies. Evan also managed a team of 11 maintenance division staff and military forces.

Following their work in the Department of Defense, Evan joined the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Japan District as a Civil Engineer and later as a Resident Engineer. In these roles, they supervised and administered construction projects, including negotiating with contractors and briefing stakeholders and senior officials.

Most recently, Evan worked at the City of San Mateo as the Deputy Director of Public Works - Engineering Services. Evan directed and managed programs within the Engineering Services Section, including capital improvement program development, traffic engineering, and private development review. Evan also collaborated with other agencies and stakeholders to plan regional solutions.

Currently, Evan is employed at the U.S. Department of Energy as a Federal Project Director, overseeing major equipment and construction projects at the SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory.

Evan Albert, P.E., MPA, obtained a Master of Public Administration (MPA) degree from San Francisco State University in the years 2015 to 2017. Prior to that, they completed a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Civil Engineering from the same institution between 2001 and 2007. Evan also holds a high school diploma from San Clemente High School, which they received from 1998 to 2001. Additionally, Evan has obtained various certifications, including being a Professional Engineer (PE) accredited by the California Board of Consumer Affairs and completing the Supervisor Academy program offered by San Mateo County. Evan is also an Administrative Contracting Officer certified by the US Army Corps of Engineers. Other certifications include being a Contracting Officer's Representative (FAC-COR) from the Defense Acquisition University.
