Ron Prestidge has extensive experience in the environmental and primary industries sector. Ron began their career at the Department of Natural Resources and Environment, where they served as an Institute Director. In this role, they were responsible for managing a team of 80 staff and overseeing financial, human resource, asset, customer, and media management. After this, they joined Primary Industries Research Victoria (PIRVic) as the General Manager of Environment & Resource Sciences. Here, they had line management responsibility for 300 staff and managed an annual revenue of $35 million. Ron then moved on to the Department of Environment and Primary Industries, where they held the position of Executive Director, Agriculture Research Division, before eventually becoming the Executive Director & Head of Strategic Partnerships.
