Ashfaq Ahmed

Ashfaq Ahmed is a seasoned professional in the field of policy and engineering with extensive experience spanning multiple organizations. Currently serving as a Senior Policy Advisor at the Department of Energy, Environment and Climate Action since February 2023, Ashfaq also holds the position of Program Lead and Policy Advisor for Climate Action and Circular Economy. Previous roles include Adjunct Research Fellow and Research Fellow in Sustainable Development at Victoria University and Senior Scientist at the Environment Protection Authority Victoria. Ashfaq's academic credentials include a PhD in Chemical Engineering from Universiti Brunei Darussalam and a Master’s Degree and Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of the Punjab and NFC IET Multan, respectively. Additionally, practical experience includes serving as a Research Professor at the University of Seoul and various engineering roles in the petrochemical and paper industries.
