Principal Digital Engagement Officer, Digital Health at Victorian Department of Health

Vanessa Collins has a diverse and extensive work experience. Vanessa is currently working as the Principal Digital Engagement Officer for the Victorian Department of Health since March 2022. Prior to this, they served as the Head of UK Policy and Engagement for the Europe team at the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) from January 2021, where they had also held the position of Senior Policy Adviser for International Transfer Tools, Data Protection from January 2020 to January 2021. Vanessa has also worked as a Senior Policy Adviser for Regional Museums Policy and Projects at DCMS, where they were responsible for managing several key relationships, leading on core briefs, and overseeing various projects. Vanessa has previous experience as a Governance Manager at DCMS and as an Executive Assistant to the Director General, Operations at the Ministry of Justice UK. Additionally, they have held roles as an Executive Assistant at The London Clinic, a Research Associate at The Zygos Partnership, an Executive Assistant at Interim Partners, and a Private Academic Tutor as a self-employed individual. Earlier in their career, Vanessa worked as a Personal Assistant to the Company Director and Principal Consultant at CC Management Consulting Pty Ltd and as an Officer Services Manager at FB Rice.

Vanessa Collins holds a Bachelor's Degree in Arts with a focus on History and Literature from the University of Melbourne. Vanessa then went on to complete an Honours Degree in History from The Australian National University in 2010. Vanessa continued their education and obtained a Master's Degree in History from the University of Melbourne in 2013.
