Danielle Garcia

Danielle Garcia is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in public housing and real estate assessment. Currently serving as the Acting Associate Deputy Assistant Secretary in the Office of Real Estate Assessment Center at the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development since June 2013, Danielle leads a team of 184 employees, focusing on quality assurance, property inspections, and financial reviews. Notably, Danielle has successfully directed a $5 billion Emergency Housing Voucher program, aiding approximately 70,000 individuals facing housing instability. Previous roles include Director of the Office of Fair Housing and Equal Opportunity, where Danielle advised on civil rights matters, and positions at the Housing Authority of the City of Austin and Southwest Housing Compliance Corporation, emphasizing leadership and compliance within multifamily housing programs. Danielle holds a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Studies from Texas State University and is currently pursuing a Master of Public Leadership at The LBJ School of Public Affairs.
