Laura McClure

Laura McClure serves as the Deputy Chief Disaster and National Security Officer at the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development since December 2009. Prior to this role, Laura held several key positions, including Policy Director at FEMA, Director of Prevention and Response at The White House Homeland Security Council, and Acting Deputy Director at the Department of Transportation's Office of Intelligence, Security, and Emergency Response. Laura's expertise in security and emergency response was further demonstrated through roles such as Director of Biodefense and Advisor to the Chief Medical Officer at the Department of Homeland Security. Laura began a career in policy assistance at the Department of Transportation, supporting the Secretary of Transportation. Educationally, Laura holds a Master's degree in Human Behavior/Health Studies from The University of Alabama.
