Julie Rutherford is an experienced professional in policy development and program management, currently serving as a Principal Program Officer and Acting Director for Science Capability and Partnerships at the Department of Jobs, Tourism, Science and Innovation since February 2021. Prior roles include managerial and policy positions at the Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries and the Department of Sport and Recreation, focusing on facilitating positive outcomes in sport, recreation, and community wellbeing. Before these roles, Julie coordinated facilities planning for the City of Swan and managed a leisure centre, demonstrating strong leadership and project management skills. Julie holds a Master’s degree in Urban and Regional Planning from Curtin University, a Diploma in Project Management from Chifley Business School, and a Bachelor of Social Science in Leisure Science from Edith Cowan University.
