Akeer Garang

Akeer Garang currently serves as a Senior Policy and Project Officer at the Department of Justice and Community Safety, Victoria, since August 2020, with a secondment role as a Behaviour Support Specialist. In addition, Akeer has been employed at the Centre for Multicultural Youth since January 2019, holding the position of Advanced Case Manager and engaging as a Shout Out Speaker and Youth Advisory Group Member, focusing on issues facing culturally and linguistically diverse young people, particularly in the areas of criminal justice, racial literacy, and LGBTQIA+ inclusion. Prior experience includes roles at the Consumer Action Law Centre as a Regional Administrative Officer and Reception Administrative Assistant from March to December 2018. Akeer holds a Bachelor of Arts in Criminology and Human Rights from Monash University.
