Carly Dybka

Carly Dybka has extensive experience in communications and public affairs, starting as a Communications Trainee in 2008 and progressing to roles such as Communications Advisor, Senior Advisor for Social Media, and Assistant Director at Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada. Carly also worked as an Instructor at Carleton University, focusing on digital communication challenges in government. Currently, they serve as the Director of Employee Communications and Digital, Creative and Language Services at the Department of Justice Canada. Throughout their career, Carly has demonstrated expertise in social media management, client service, research, and developing communication strategies.

Carly Dybka holds a Bachelor's degree in Communications from the University of Ottawa, obtained in 2010. Carly continued their education by completing a Master of Arts (M.A.) in Communications at the same university from 2011 to 2013. Following this, Carly pursued a Graduate Diploma in Information Studies at the University of Ottawa in 2014-2015. Carly then furthered their academic achievements with a Doctor of Philosophy - PhD in Communication and Media Studies at Carleton University, where they have been studying since 2018 and is set to graduate in 2024. In addition to their degrees, Carly also holds additional certifications as a Hootsuite Certified Professional from Hootsuite Media Inc. in 2015 and an iap2 Certificate in Public Participation from IAP2 International Association for Public Participation (Australasia) in 2013.
