Normand Wong is a Senior Counsel and Team Manager at the Department of Justice Canada, leading the Organized Crime, Technology and Investigative Powers Team within the Criminal Law Policy Section since December 1997. Wong's expertise encompasses a wide range of legal areas including child sexual exploitation offences, computer and related crimes, police investigative powers, national security law, human rights law, information and privacy law, and information technology law. Additionally, experience includes participation in international law initiatives concerning cybercrime and data access with various global organizations. Prior to the current role, Wong served as a law clerk at the Federal Court of Canada, focusing on administrative law, and as an articling student specializing in real estate litigation. Educational background includes a Doctor of Law from the University of Windsor and multiple degrees in arts and communications from McGill University and the University of Ottawa.
