Lalitha Adury currently serves as the Chief of Staff for the Policy Planning Staff at the U.S. Department of State, a position held since July 2023. Prior to this role, Lalitha worked at the National Security Council in the White House from June 2021 to June 2023, where responsibilities included Special Assistant to the National Security Advisor and Special Assistant for Development, Global Health, and Humanitarian Response. Additional experience includes a brief tenure as a Research Assistant at the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy, participation in the NSEP Boren Indonesian Flagship Language Initiative, and internships and volunteer roles with Biden for President and the U.S. Department of State. Lalitha has also served in various analytical and educational positions, including as a Fulbright English Teaching Assistant. Educational qualifications include a Master of Arts in Law and Diplomacy from The Fletcher School at Tufts University and a Bachelor's Degree in International/Global Studies from American University.
