Maris Thomson

Global Ties Network DEIA Working Group at U.S. Department of State

Maris Thomson is a skilled professional with extensive experience in program management, diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives, and student engagement. Currently serving as a Senior Program Associate and DEI Taskforce Member at Meridian International Center, Maris is involved in decision-making related to organizational culture and programming through a DEI framework. In addition, Maris participates in the Global Ties Network DEIA Working Group under the U.S. Department of State, promoting inclusivity in international exchange programs. Previous roles include Student Organizations Coordinator at the Office of Student Life and Leadership, President of Phi Sigma Pi National Honor Fraternity, and Political Affairs Fellow at The Borgen Project. Maris holds a Bachelor of Arts in Global Studies, graduating cum laude from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
