Sarah Wardwell is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in international relations, resilience building, and program management. Currently serving as a Foreign Service Officer and Innovation Advisor at the U.S. Department of State, Sarah focuses on modernizing operational practices. Prior to this role, Sarah worked with Mercy Corps, where significant contributions included developing strategies to enhance community resilience in West and Central Africa and managing humanitarian programs in conflict-affected regions. Sarah’s earlier career includes roles with various educational and nonprofit organizations, as well as volunteer work with the Peace Corps in West Africa, where initiatives in education and community development were implemented. Sarah holds a Master's degree in Political Science with a focus on International Relations from Portland State University and a Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Oregon.
