Bharat Lad

Bharat Lad is a seasoned aeromechanics expert currently serving as Chief of Aeromechanics at Rolls-Royce since February 2015, where responsibilities include corporate strategy ownership for de-risking products, global technical governance, and safety-critical investigations. Bharat has been instrumental in managing research and technology strategies for next-generation hydrogen-powered flight and serves as a technical authority in fluid dynamics and high-performance computing. Alongside their role at Rolls-Royce, Bharat is an academic visitor at Imperial College London and has been the Chair of Governors at Derby High School since April 2021. Prior experience includes a position as Research Manager and Technical Consultant at Alstom, focusing on technical challenges across various fields, and computational modeling expertise at the University of Oxford. Bharat holds a Ph.D. and MEng, both in aeronautical engineering from Imperial College London.
