Sean Proehl

Sean Proehl has extensive work experience in the legal and business development field. Sean is currently serving as the Sr. Director of Legal and Business Development at Dermata Therapeutics, Inc. since September 2021. Prior to this, they held roles at Dermata Therapeutics, LLC, starting as a Manager of Legal and Business Development from August 2015 to July 2022, and subsequently promoted to Director from January 2019 to July 2022.

Before their time at Dermata Therapeutics, Sean gained valuable experience as a Corporate and Real Estate Legal Intern at BioMed Realty from May 2014 to April 2015. Here, they assisted with the formation and dissolution of entities, corporate governance analysis, contract review, lease review, drafting contract terms, and monitoring litigation holds.

Sean also served as a Corporate and Real Estate Legal Intern at Pacific Pearl Hotel, LLC from February 2014 to May 2014, where they provided comprehensive legal support including contract review, researching court cases, editing discovery requests, reviewing service agreements, and conducting general business research.

Sean's early career involved a Corporate Legal Internship at Santarus, Inc. in 2013, as well as a Legal Internship at the University of San Diego Small Claims Clinic in the same year. At the Small Claims Clinic, they assisted low-income clients in settling claims or preparing for their cases in Small Claims Court, while also gaining experience in managing multiple clients and conducting legal research.

Furthermore, Sean had a Marketing Internship at NuVasive in 2010, where they gained exposure to marketing strategies within the medical industry.
