Tom Borec

Tom Borec has extensive experience in the field of tax, holding various leadership positions throughout their career. Currently, they serve as the Global Head of Tax at Dermavant Sciences, leading the company's tax function and overseeing tax strategy, compliance, planning, and accounting. Prior to this, they worked at MTS Globe as the Global Head of Tax, where they managed all tax matters for the technology-based travel and tourism enterprise. Tom also held the position of Tax Director at eBay, where they developed tax solutions and led discussions on taxation of the digital economy with regulatory bodies. Earlier in their career, Tom worked at PwC as a Senior Indirect Tax Manager and Senior Tax Manager, providing tax expertise to international companies across various sectors. Tom began their career at Deloitte as a Senior Associate in Tax and Legal, advising companies on tax and legal matters. Before joining Deloitte, they worked as a Tax and Legal Consultant at Simič & Partnerji, gaining experience in various tax issues and assisting clients in tax audits and court proceedings.

Tom Borec completed their education with a Master's degree in Law from the University of Ljubljana from 1996 to 2001. Recently, in 2020 to 2022, they pursued an International Executive MBA in General Management from the University of St.Gallen. Additionally, in 2021, they completed executive MBA modules on "Doing Business in Innovative California" from the University of California, Irvine - The Paul Merage School of Business, and "Doing Business in China" from Tsinghua University.
