Steven Stone

Steven Stone, Ph.D., has over 20 years’ experience in developing genomic products and seeing them through to successful commercialization. Prior to joining DermTech, Dr. Stone was the Vice President of Kidney Care at CareDx. There, his research group was responsible for the research and development of kidney care test offerings including AlloMap, HistoMap and UroMap. Prior to CareDx, he spent over two decades at Myriad Genetics, including the executive leadership role of Vice President of Cancer Genomics where his group was responsible for the development of a molecular prognostic test for newly diagnosed prostate cancer (Prolaris). In addition, he was involved in the discovery and characterization of several important cancer genes including BRCA1 and p16. Dr. Stone received his Ph.D. in Genetics from the University of Minnesota and has authored over 45 peer-reviewed publications and 10 U.S. patents.
