Nathan Troup has extensive work experience in the field of opera. Nathan began their career in 2010 as an Associate and Assistant Stage Director at The Castleton Festival. From there, they worked as a Stage Director at Webster University and as a Guest Stage Director / Artist-in-residence at Viterbo University. In 2013, they served as a Young Artist Stage Director at The Glimmerglass Festival, where they also worked as an Assistant Director. In 2014, they joined Des Moines Metro Opera, Inc. as an Apprentice Artist Program Staff and Assistant Director. At Boston Conservatory at Berklee, they held the position of Associate Director of Opera Studies and Associate Professor of Music. Nathan also worked at Boston University Opera Institute as Faculty / Stage Director. Additionally, they served as the Jane & Steven Akin Emerging Artist-Director at Boston Lyric Opera. Nathan has also worked as an Assistant Stage Director at The Santa Fe Opera and as a Stage Director for the Studio Program at the Wolf Trap Foundation for the Performing Arts. Overall, Nathan Troup has gained a wealth of experience in various roles within the opera industry.

Nathan Troup began their education at Susquehanna University in 1999, where they pursued a Bachelor's degree of Music in Voice and Opera. Nathan attended the university until 2002. Following this, Nathan Troup enrolled at Boston University from 2002 to 2004, where they obtained a Master's degree in Voice and Opera.
