Research Engineer at Descript

Alejandro Luebs has been working in the tech industry since 2012. Alejandro started off as a Java Developer at Globant, then moved on to be an Acoustic Consultant at Schulz+Schulz Architects. After that, they were a Research Assistant at the Instituto Tecnológico de Buenos Aires, where they were the Speaker Verification research project coordinator and assistant to signal and digital systems analysis and biometrics courses. In 2013, they joined Google as a Senior Software Engineer, where they worked on different projects related to real time communication, including typing suppression, denoising, beamforming, intelligibility enhancement, declipping, and bandwidth extension. Alejandro was also involved in the first two versions of Lyra, a generative-model-based low-bitrate speech codec. In 2022, they joined Descript as a Research Engineer.

Alejandro Luebs attended Instituto Tecnológico de Buenos Aires from 2007 to 2013, where they earned an Electronic Engineering degree with a focus on Signal Processing.
