Gary Scharringhausen

Gary Scharringhausen has extensive experience in emergency management and security coordination, currently serving as the Security Training Coordinator and Emergency Manager at Desert Diamond Casinos & Entertainment since December 2017. Gary is a Certified Emergency Manager (CEM) with the International Association of Emergency Managers since July 2015. Prior to this, Gary was the Police Commander for the Village of Hawthorn Woods, IL from March 1994 to May 2017. Gary's education includes advanced studies in Emergency Management and Humanitarian Response from Harvard University, leadership training from the Federal Emergency Management Agency, and a Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice from Almeda University. Gary also attended Northwestern University for additional professional development.
