Melissa Crowe has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries. Melissa started their career in the United States Air Force, serving in the Active Duty role from 1994 to 1998. Melissa then joined the US Air Force Reserve as a Non-Commissioned Officer-In-Charge, focusing on Medical Readiness from 1998 to 2006. Following that, they worked at the Arizona Department of Health Services as the Pandemic Preparedness and Bioterrorism Response Coordinator, where they developed statewide pandemic response plans and coordinated with healthcare leaders for mass casualty events. Melissa also worked at Desert Financial Credit Union, where they held various roles. As the Disaster Recovery Manager, they worked from 2008 to 2012, and as the Director of Business Continuity, they held the position from 2012 to 2016. Melissa then served as the Senior Director of Building Operations and Quality from 2016 to 2019, overseeing facilities, procurement, and quality control. Lastly, they held the position of Assistant Vice President of Corporate Services from 2019, where they managed operations, procurement, corporate security, and crisis response initiatives for the credit union.

Melissa Crowe holds a Master of Arts (MA) degree in Leadership from Webster University. Melissa also has a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Healthcare Management from Southern Illinois University, Carbondale. Additionally, Melissa has obtained the Certified Business Continuity Professional (CBCP) certification from DRI International (Disaster Recovery Institute) in June 2023. In 2020, they obtained the Executive Certification in Commercial Real Estate from Cornell University.
