Teresa Sanders

Teresa Sanders has a diverse background in veterinary medicine, with their most recent position being as the Area Medical Director at Destination Pet, LLC. In this role, they provide clinical and administrative support to the medical directors, practice managers, and support staff of all five Destination Pet Hospitals in San Antonio. Prior to that, they worked as a veterinarian at THRIVE Affordable Vet Care, Traveling Tails Veterinary Clinic, Huebner Oaks Veterinary Hosp, San Antonio Humane Society, Pets First Veterinary Center, Emergency Pet Center, VCA All Pets Animal Hospital, Special Friends Veterinary Clinic, and Denver Dumb Friends League. Teresa has a range of experience in both clinical and shelter settings, making their a well-rounded and experienced veterinarian.

Teresa Sanders completed their high school education at Incarnate Word High School from 1986 to 1990, where they received a diploma. Teresa then pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology at the University of the Incarnate Word, graduating from 1990 to 1995. Following this, they obtained a Post Baccalaureate Certification in Medical Technology with a specialization in Categorical Chemistry from UT Health San Antonio from 1997 to 1999. Later, Teresa attended Colorado State University from 2000 to 2004, where they earned a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree in Veterinary Medicine. In 2016-2017, they underwent training in Veterinary Medical Acupuncture at Curacore, while in 2021-2022, they pursued a Certification in Veterinary Acupuncture from the International Veterinary Acupuncture Society.
