Leonard Ligon has a long history of working in the UAS and robotics industry. In 2012, they began working as an Operations Officer for the Alaska Center for UAS Integration, where they were responsible for UAS operational deployment scheduling, resource allocation, managing staff and daily operations, training staff and performing operational administrative duties. In 2014, they were elected to the AUVSI Board of Directors, where they devoted himself to the UAS and Robotics industry and worked to advance regulatory advancement and airspace integration. In 2015, they began working for SAIC and NASA Ames as a UAS Airspace Integration, Operations Management, Regulations, Rules & Procedures and T&E, providing mission support to NASA's Unmanned Traffic Management (UTM) program. Leonard then worked for Corvus Consulting in 2016 as a UAS SME and Counter-UAS Industry Outreach Coordinator, as well as a Counter-UAS T&E Coordinator for the Joint Improvised Threat-Defeat Organization (JIDO). In 2018, they became the Director of Unmanned Traffic Management (UTM), UAS & Counter UAS SME, and Senior Military Applications at WhiteFox Defense Technologies, Inc. In 2020, they began consulting for Drone/UA Airspace Management (D/UAM) and in 2022, they began working as a UAS/Drone Airspace Security Program Manager for DeTect, Inc. and as an Aerospace Engineer for Faraway Fly Fishing.

Leonard Ligon obtained a BS in Aviation Technology from Alabama between 1994 and 1996. Leonard then obtained an MS in Interdisciplinary Aeronautical Studies from Alabama "Roll Tide" between 1996 and 1998. Additionally, they obtained a BA in Business Administration from Adam Smith University (Hawaii) between 1994 and 1995.
