Liam Li

Liam Li is a Senior Applied Machine Learning Engineer at Determined AI. Liam received their PhD from Carnegie Mellon University, where they conducting research in hyperparameter optimization and AutoML. Prior to that, they were a software engineering intern at Google Research and a graduate student researcher at UCLA, developing efficient algorithms for hyperparameter optimization. Before their academic career, Liam worked as a risk analyst at BlueMountain Capital Management and as a senior analyst at Cornerstone Research.

Liam Li graduated from Stuyvesant High School and then attended Caltech, where they earned a Bachelor of Science in Applied Math. Liam then attended Carnegie Mellon University, where they earned a Master of Science in Computer Science - Machine Learning, and then a Doctor of Philosophy - PhD in Computer Science - Machine Learning.

Liam Li reports to Neil Conway, CTO. They are on a team with Tim Tucker - Senior Support Engineer, Ben Somers - Engineering Manager, and Justin Chen - Engineering Manager.
