Dave Birkett

Dave Birkett is an experienced sports reporter specializing in football coverage. Currently serving as the Detroit Lions beat reporter for the Detroit Free Press since August 2010, Birkett has previously worked as a Michigan football beat reporter for AnnArbor.com from June 2009 to August 2010. Additionally, Birkett spent eight years at The Oakland Press as a Detroit Lions reporter, covering the team for a cluster of suburban Detroit newspapers. Earlier experience includes a role as a sports reporter and interim sports editor at Northern Virginia Daily from 1999 to 2000. Birkett holds a Bachelor's Degree from Michigan State University.
