Salvador Salort-Pons serves as the Director, President, and CEO of the Detroit Institute of Arts since February 2008, overseeing the division of Collection Strategies and Information, including departments like Conservation and Collections Management. In addition, Salvador continues to lead the European Art Department, responsible for a significant collection spanning 1300-1950, where duties include research on Nazi-Era provenance and curating exhibitions. Previously, Salvador held various positions such as Fellow at the Getty Foundation and Senior Curator at the Meadows Museum. Salvador's academic background includes a Ph.D. in Art History from The Royal Spanish College at the University of Bologna, an MBA in Finance from SMU Cox School of Business, and a Master's degree in Geography and History from Universidad Complutense de Madrid. Additionally, Salvador is a board member of the Midwest Art History Society.
