Dre Thompson

DeAndre Thompson is a professional football coach with extensive experience in defensive coaching and recruitment. Currently serving as a Defensive Assistant Coach for the Detroit Lions since March 2023, DeAndre previously held roles with the Denver Broncos Football Club as a Defensive Assistant and Quality Control Coach, and at the University at Buffalo as the Corners Coach. DeAndre's coaching career includes positions at Campbell University, where responsibilities encompassed coaching cornerbacks and coordinating the recruiting budget, and earlier roles at Texas A&M University and the University of Missouri as a Defensive Graduate Assistant. DeAndre also has experience in education, having worked as a teacher and long-term substitute teacher at Houston ISD and Alief ISD, respectively. DeAndre holds a Bachelor's degree in Leadership, Education, and Development from Texas A&M University and further education from The University of Memphis.
