Steve Scalzi

Steve Scalzi currently serves as an Assistant Coach for the Detroit Pistons, having assumed this role in June 2023. Prior to this, Scalzi held the same position with the Phoenix Suns from August 2021 to June 2023 and worked as a Player Development Coach for the Oklahoma City Thunder from August 2014 to July 2021, where responsibilities included developing holistic player development strategies and managing critical game-time communications. Scalzi also has experience as the Director of Analysis and Opposition Scouting, mentoring NBA MVPs and contributing to multiple playoff appearances. His coaching background includes time with the NBA G League's Tulsa 66ers and as an Assistant Coach at Northeastern University, where recruitment and player success were primary focuses. Scalzi's educational background includes a Master's degree in Corporate Leadership and Organizational Communications from Northeastern University and a Bachelor's degree in History from Boston College.
