Alessandro Barcherini

Alessandro Barcherini is an accomplished football coach currently serving as the Assistant Head Coach and Head of Goalkeeping at Sunderland AFC since August 2022. Previous experiences include positions such as 1st Team Assistant Goalkeeping Coach and Head of Academy Goalkeeping at Leeds United Football Club, and Lead Academy Goalkeeping Coach at Stoke City Football Club. Alessandro has a strong foundation in football coaching, having worked as the Lead Academy Goalkeeping and Defensive Coach at Notts County Football Club, where a comprehensive goalkeeping syllabus was developed for the academy. Additionally, Alessandro held various roles at Nottingham Trent University, including Head of Football and Performance Sport Development Officer, and gained coaching experience as a Goalkeeper Coach for the Nike Academy. Alessandro holds a Master of Research in Sports Science and a Bachelor's degree in Sport, Leisure & Outdoor Management from Nottingham Trent University.
