Janet Batchelder

Janet Batchelder has extensive experience in library services, currently serving as the Coordinator of Children's and Teen Services at Detroit Public Library since December 1985. In this role, Janet plans and leads literacy and recreational programming for youth, as well as oversees collection development for the children's and teen departments. Additionally, Janet volunteers with the YMCA and previously with the Berkley School District, assisting with special events and media center shelving, respectively. Janet's earlier experience includes working as a Children's Librarian at Findlay-Hancock County Public Library. Janet holds a Master's Degree in Library and Information Science from the University of Michigan and a Bachelor's Degree in Child Development and French from Albion College.
