Afroza Haque

Afroza Haque is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in disaster risk management, climate change, and environmental sustainability. Currently serving as Program Lead for Anticipatory Action and Forecast-based Financing at the German Red Cross since March 2023, Afroza focuses on streamlining preparedness and response efforts in Bangladesh. Previously, Afroza held the position of Program Officer for Nature, Climate & Energy at UNDP, where responsibilities included partnership development, policy advice, and project management for various climate-related initiatives. Prior roles include Senior Project Officer at German Red Cross, Urban Crisis Learning Coordinator at Habitat for Humanity Bangladesh, and Programme Officer at ActionAid Bangladesh, demonstrating a comprehensive background in project implementation, stakeholder coordination, and research. Afroza possesses a Master's Degree in Environmental Science from the University of Chittagong and additional specialized training in Geo-Information for Improved Natural Resource Management from the University of Twente.
