Alanna Hendren

Executive Director at Developmental Disabilities Association

Alanna Hendren is the current Executive Director at Developmental Disabilities Association. Prior to this, they were the Provincial Manager of Mental Health Services to Persons with Mental Handicaps at B.C. Ministry of Health from January 1993 to December 1994. There, they were responsible for the integration of secondary and tertiary support services, redevelopment of referral and intake systems, and reconciliation of complimentary services offered by the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Social Services. Alanna also developed education programs with the U.B.C. Department of Psychiatry, coordinated psychiatrists, psychologists and on-site treatment staff in communities, and developed unique models of service to meet the needs of provincial regions.

From January 1987 to December 1998, Hendren served as Executive Director at Semiahmoo House Society. And from January 1983 to December 1987, they were Administrator at Grand Forks & District Society for the Mentally Handicapped.

Alanna Hendren is a Certified Association Executive (CAE) who has a BA in Psychology from Simon Fraser University.
