Gamini Amarasinghe has a diverse work experience spanning over multiple companies and industries. Gamini has worked as a Human Resources and Compliance Director at Dewhirst since 2021. Previously, they worked as a Higg Index Verifier and Trainer at the Sustainable Apparel Coalition from 2019 to 2021. Gamini also served as an Independent Auditor in Sri Lanka and Bangladesh for Sumerra from 2014 onwards. Additionally, they have held roles as an SLCP Verifier and Trainer at the Social & Labor Convergence Program from 2019 to 2023, as well as a Country Head in Sri Lanka for Accordia Global Compliance Group from 2018 to 2021. Prior to that, Gamini worked as a Consultant for Progress Apparels (Bangladesh) Ltd from 2016 to 2018 and as a Consultant and Director for Dewhirst/Shanta-Bangladesh from 2008 to 2015. Other roles include Group General Manager at SHANTA GROUP from 2008 to 2011, Manager of Human Resources & Admin at Brandix in 2008, and Human Resources Manager at Hirdaramani Group from 2003 to 2007.

Gamini Amarasinghe has a diverse education history. In 1994, they obtained a Cricket Umpire Certificate from the Association of Cricket Umpires Sri Lanka, followed by a Cricket Coaching Award Certificate from Sri Lanka Cricket in 1995. In 1996, they began studying at the University of Sri Jayewardenepura, earning a BSc in Human Resources Management in 2000. Gamini furthered their education at the Post Graduate Institute of Business Management, where they obtained a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from 2008 to 2010. In 2012, they attended AITC Sri Lanka and completed a course in Sustainability Manufacturing, focused on HR & Lean Manufacturing. The same year, they also took a Lead Auditor Course in ISO 14001:2004 & ISO 9001:2008 & ISO 19011:2002 from CMC International UK, which was IRCA certified. In 2013, they pursued training in social compliance, completing courses in SA8000-Auditor Training from Social Accountability International and WRAP-Lead Auditor Training from Worldwide Responsible Accredited Production. In 2015, they earned a Lead Auditor ISO 45001 certification from EQMS India Pvt. Ltd. In 2019, they attended the National Cleaner Production Centre Sri Lanka and obtained a Consultant Development in Water Auditing and Water Footprint certificate, as well as a Corporate Environmental Sustainability certificate. Most recently, in 2016, they completed an MSc in Occupational Safety and Health Management at the University of Moratuwa, specializing in Occupational Health and Safety. In terms of additional certifications, they hold various qualifications, including HIGG Index Verifier & Trainer, SLCP Verifier, Lead Auditor ISO 9001 and ISO 14001, and more.
