Cormac Shine currently serves as a Policy Officer and Coordinator within the Security and Defence Policy Directorate at the European External Action Service, focusing on strategy, coordination, and policy. Shine also leads the Policy Coordination Division's PSC team on Africa, global issues, and values and multilateral relations. Previously, Shine held the position of Seconded National Expert at the Department of Foreign Affairs in Ireland and served as a delegate to key committees including the European Peace Facility Committee and the Africa Working Party. Shine's prior experience includes leading the Embassy of Ireland in Uganda and working as a societal researcher at UBS's Y Think Tank. An educational background includes master's degrees from the National University of Ireland and the Geneva Graduate Institute, along with a bachelor's degree from Trinity College Dublin.
