Allen Manzano-Wight

Allen Manzano-Wight has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. In 2009, they worked as a Junior Biometric Engineer at Ideal Innovations, Inc. Allen then transitioned to a role as an Author at I-79 Development Council Inc., where they sourced and compiled news for a weekly newsletter.

From 2010 to 2016, Allen worked at Booz Allen Hamilton as a Lead Software Engineer, specializing in full stack development on the CodeLift project. Additionally, they were a Resident Assistant at West Virginia University, where they organized events and supported over 20 individuals in a high-stress environment.

In 2017, Allen became an Instructor at Trilogy Education Services, teaching full stack development to students at George Washington University. Allen then joined Red Hat as a Senior Software Engineer, where they contributed to various GitHub projects and built frontend applications.

Allen'smost recent position at Ada as a Senior Software Engineer involved crafting tools to empower builders in connecting with customers, as well as adding expressions through emojis to Slack.

Currently, Allen is an Emoji Ambassador, Frontend Sage, and unofficial Hype Human at Dfinitiv, where they may be contributing to frontend projects and creating a positive atmosphere.

Allen Manzano-Wight holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in Computer and Information Systems Security/Information Assurance from JMU College of Business, which they obtained from 2011 to 2013. Prior to their MBA, Allen completed their undergraduate education at West Virginia University, earning a Bachelor of Applied Science (B.A.Sc.) degree in three different fields. From 2006 to 2010, they studied Biometry/Biometrics, Computer Science, and Computer Engineering at West Virginia University.

Additionally, Allen has obtained several certifications to enhance their knowledge and expertise. In December 2013, they obtained the NSTISSI 4011 certification from the NATIONAL SECURITY TELECOMMUNICATIONS AND INFORMATION SYSTEMS SECURITY institution. In April 2010, they received the Certified Biometric Professional certification from IEEE. Allen also possesses certifications such as Certified Ethical Hacker and Security+, obtained from EC-Council and CompTIA respectively.
