Alexandru Uta

Alexandru Uta is an accomplished researcher in the field of computer systems with extensive experience in academia and industry. Currently serving as a Senior Researcher at DFINITY since July 2022, Alexandru's prior roles include Assistant Professor at Leiden University from February 2020 to May 2023, and a Visiting Academic at Amazon Web Services from November 2020 to June 2022. Alexandru's academic journey includes a Postdoctoral Researcher position at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam from November 2012 to February 2020, as well as earlier experience as both a Software Engineer Intern and Research Intern at Databricks and Hyves, respectively. Alexandru holds a Doctor of Philosophy from Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, specializing in Large-scale Computer Systems, along with a Master of Science in High Performance Distributed Computing and a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from the University of Bucharest.
