Gunnar Schönhoff

Gunnar Schönhoff is an accomplished professional with a strong background in quantum computing and machine learning, currently serving as Team Lead at the Deutsches Forschungszentrum für Künstliche Intelligenz (DFKI) since March 2022, overseeing a team of over 10 researchers. Previously, Gunnar held various roles at University4Industry - U4I, including Head of Customer Success & Fulfillment (interim) and Project Manager, focusing on customer projects and digital learning in industrial IoT. Gunnar's early career included a position as a researcher at the University of Bremen, specializing in solid state physics and 2D materials. Educationally, Gunnar earned a PhD in Theoretical and Mathematical Physics and a Master’s in Computational Materials Science from the University of Bremen, following a Bachelor’s degree in Physics from Heidelberg University.
