Naren Vasantakumaar is a research assistant at the Deutsches Forschungszentrum für Künstliche Intelligenz (DFKI) since August 2023, focusing on image segmentation and binary classification of synthetic images of an excavator. Naren also conducted a master's thesis on robot state estimation using synthetic RGB images. Prior experience includes a research assistant role at the Indian Institute of Technology, Palakkad, working on motor control for an autonomous mobile manipulator, and an internship at the National Institute of Technology, Tiruchirappalli, involving trajectory tracking of a quadcopter using PID and fuzzy logic. Naren is pursuing an M.Sc in Control, Microsystems, and Microelectronics at the University of Bremen, expected to graduate in March 2024, and holds a B.E. in Robotics and Automation from PSG College of Technology, completed in 2019.
