Dr. Daniel Tamez

Dr. Daniel Tamez, FACHE, has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. Dr. Daniel started their career at Texas A&M University as a Biosecurity and Environmental Health Research Specialist from 2010 to 2011. Dr. Daniel then worked as a Physician Associate at Tavarez Medical Center from 2013 to 2014. Following this, they served as an Internal Medicine/Geriatrics Physician Associate-Certified at WellMed Medical Management from 2014 to 2016. Subsequently, they worked as a Physician Associate, PRN at Norma Iglesias and Associates Day and Night Clinic from 2016 to 2019. During this time, they assessed and managed various patient populations and collaborated with the healthcare team to provide optimal patient care. Dr. Tamez also gained experience in Palliative/Hospice Medicine from 2016 to 2019 at an undisclosed location. Dr. Daniel then moved on to Wound Management LLC, where they served as a Wound Care Consultant from 2017 to 2023. In this role, they oversaw clinical operations and delivered top-quality care across multiple healthcare settings. In 2019, they joined DHR Health as Vice President of Clinical Medicine, overseeing strategic clinical programs and services. Currently, they hold the position of Executive Vice President at DHR Health, a role they started in 2022. In addition to their clinical roles, Dr. Tamez has also been involved in academia, serving as an Assistant Clinical Professor of Medicine and Adjunct Professor of Physician Assistant Studies at The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley since 2021. Dr. Daniel Tamez, FACHE, holds a Doctor of Science (Sc.D) degree in Health/Health Care Administration/Management from A.T. Still University of Health Sciences. Dr. Daniel also completed a Postgraduate Degree PGY 1 in the Hospice and Palliative Medicine Program at Harvard Medical School. Dr. Daniel earned a Master of Public Health degree in Health/Health Care Administration/Management from Texas A&M University. Additionally, they hold a Master of Science in Medicine from The University of Texas-Pan American, as well as a Bachelor of Science in Biology and Chemistry with a minor in Spanish from the same institution. Dr. Tamez has obtained several certifications, including Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives (FACHE) from the American College of Healthcare Executives, a Certified Wound Specialist (CWS) certification from the American Board of Wound Management, and a Medical Licensure from the Texas Medical Board.
