Vishal Latha Balakumar

Vishal Latha Balakumar is an accomplished aerospace professional with extensive experience in space missions, engineering, and production planning. As the Director of Space Missions at Dhruva Space since February 2019, Vishal leads the Space Mission Analysis & Design team, collaborates with various departments, and plays a pivotal role in the company’s technology roadmap and vision. Previously, as a Mission Specialist, responsibilities included managing space products and establishing global technical partnerships. Prior experience also includes a role as Senior Executive at Hyundai Motor India Ltd. focused on production planning, and as a System Engineer for SRM University's SRMSAT project, India's first student-built nano-satellite. Vishal holds a Master of Science in Aerospace Engineering from Delft University of Technology and a Bachelor of Technology in Mechanical Engineering from SRM IST Chennai.
