Tanja Thybo

Tanja Thybo has a diverse work experience spanning across different organizations and roles. Tanja is currently the Forskningschef / Head of Research at Diabetesforeningen since March 2019. Tanja is also a Member of the Advisory Board at the Danish Diabetes and Endocrine Academy starting from January 2023. Furthermore, Tanja serves as a Member of The National Committee on Health Research Ethics at Nationalt Center for Etik since September 2022. Previously, they worked as a Consultant at the European Diabetes Forum from October 2018 to February 2019.

Prior to these roles, Tanja held multiple positions at Steno Diabetes Center Copenhagen, including Senior Project Manager from July 2017 to February 2019, Transition Manager from December 2015 to June 2017, and Research Project Manager from January 2012 to December 2015. Tanja was responsible for cross-disciplinary project management with a focus on translational research and personalized medicine.

Tanja also has experience as a CEO and Founder at AccumOil, where they worked from March 2013 to July 2017. Their role involved turning accumulated waste biomass into oil. Tanja also served as a Project Manager at Evolva SA from January 2008 to October 2011 and from August 2006 to December 2007. Prior to that, they worked as a Research Scientist at Evolva SA from November 2004 to July 2006.

Tanja started their career as a Ph.D. student at the Technical University of Denmark, where they worked from 2000 to 2004.

Tanja Thybo holds a Ph.D in Yeast Genetics from the DTU - Technical University of Denmark, which they earned from 2000 to 2004. Prior to that, they completed their MSc in Molecular Biology from Aarhus University from 1993 to 1999.
