Erik R. Ranschaert, MD, PhD has worked in a variety of roles in the medical field since 2014. Erik R. Ranschaert, MD, PhD has a long and varied educational history. Erik R. began their education in 1970 at Sint-Michielscollege Baasrode and completed their primary education in 1976 at Heilige Maagdcollege, Dendermonde, where they earned a degree in Humaniora with a focus on Latin-Greek. From 1982 to 1994, they attended Faculteit Geneeskunde KU Leuven Faculty of Medicine where they earned an MD and a Radioloog degree with a focus on Medisch beeldvormende Technieken / Medische radiologische technieken (Medical imaging). In 1990, they received a Doctor in de Genees-, Heel- en Verloskunde degree from KU Leuven and in 1994 they obtained a Geneesheer-specialist voor röntgendiagnose from the Orde van Geneesheren. In 2001, they were awarded a Radiologie (radioloog) certification from CIBG and in 2010 they became an Appraisor from Stichting Appraisal & Assessment. In 2015, they were awarded a Certificate of Distinction in Abdominal Radiology - Level I from ESGAR. In 2016, they earned a Doctor of Medical Sciences degree from the University of Antwerp, Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, a Certificate of Management and Leadership in Healtcare from Zorgbeleid.be, University of Leuven, and University Ghent, and a Certificate in Management and Leadership for Medical Doctors from KU Leuven. In 2017, they were awarded a Certified Imaging Informatics Professional from the American Board of Imaging Informatics. In 2021, they were a Spring 2021 MLADS Conference Presenter for Microsoft.
