Jason Brode is Executive Director for Diakon Youth Services’ programs for at-risk youths in central Pennsylvania, including daily operations of the Diakon Wilderness Center near Boiling Springs.
Center programs consist of the Center Point Day Treatment Program, the Weekend Alternative Program, Youthful Offenders Program for young adults, the Flight Program for older youths who voluntarily participate to receive mentoring and support, the Wilderness Greenhouse & Native Plant Nursery (one of several vocational-training components of the Center Point program) and group challenge-related training services for external community organizations. He also is responsible for oversight and supervision of Bridge community-based services within the central region of the state.
A cum laude graduate of Frostburg State University, Mr. Brode previously served as director of wilderness services, director of the Weekend Alternative Program, a weekend shift supervisor at the wilderness center and a weekend resident counselor. Before joining the Diakon organization, Mr. Brode worked in Great Britain as part of a work-exchange program and also served as a presenter at the Carnegie Science Center in Pittsburgh.
