Architect, partner, pragmatist, and designer, Brady has been a DIALOGer since 2010. He believes that each project offers distinct opportunities to creatively reflect the individuality of its context when viewed through questioning lenses. Brady enjoys discovering innovative and sustainable solutions that operate within the constraints of a project. Value and quality are the underpinnings of any proposed solution in Brady's mind.
Brady is fascinated by product design, furniture, and European automobiles. He nearly pursued a career in industrial design, but ultimately chose architecture. Perhaps due to his farming origins, Brady's work has always been strongly influenced by an understanding of the history of place and the necessity of environmental stewardship. Brady enjoys the opportunities that exist when moving between architecture, interior design, and urban design. He is fascinated with the interplay of scale and ways that people inhabit spaces.
Brady has led multi-disciplinary teams on institutional, mixed-use, multi-family residential, retail, office, commercial, and transit projects. His portfolio includes 20 JJ Bean cafés across Canada, as well as several master-planned communities. Brady received a Lieutenant Governor's Award, a Governor General's Award, and a World Architecture Award for the Nk'Mip Desert Cultural Centre in Osoyoos, BC.
His consistently seeks to be creative and make a positive and lasting contribution to communities. Brady values the strong culture that exists across all our studios and recognizes its importance in team building and idea generation. He plays an active and supportive role in our Vancouver studio, and shares his knowledge as a volunteer on the City of Vancouver Gastown Historic Area planning committee.
