Simon Corston-Oliver

Simon Corston-Oliver is an accomplished Principal Scientist and Director of Machine Learning at Dialpad, managing teams focused on research and development in Natural Language Processing, Speech Recognition, and Computer Vision since April 2019. Prior to Dialpad, Simon held various roles at Amazon, including Manager of Applied Science in AWS AI, where responsibilities included overseeing the development of deep learning solutions, and as a Senior Machine Learning Scientist, working on customer service chatbots. Experience also includes significant contributions at Nuance Communications as Principal Technical Manager and Principal Linguist, as well as software development positions at XSOL Ltd and Microsoft Corp, with a strong research background in web search and machine translation. Simon holds a PhD in Computational Linguistics from UC Santa Barbara and has published thirty-three peer-reviewed papers alongside fifteen patent applications.
