Rakesh Srivastava, a Ph.D. graduate in Genetics from the Indian Agricultural Research Institute, has extensive experience in the field of genomics and molecular breeding. Currently serving as the Principal Scientist at ICRISAT, Rakesh leads the global chickpea breeding efforts and oversees pearl millet genomics and molecular breeding projects. Prior to their current role, Rakesh held various positions within ICRISAT, including Senior Scientist and Scientist in molecular breeding. Additionally, Rakesh has worked as a visiting scientist in chickpea breeding at ICRISAT and as an adjunct professor at SDAU. Earlier in their career, Rakesh also worked as a Breeder/Biotechnologist at Syngenta.
