Burcu K.

Burcu K. is a Beamline Scientist at Diamond Light Source since March 2022, bringing extensive experience from previous roles, including Research Associate in Materials Science at Brookhaven National Laboratory and Research Assistant at Carnegie Mellon University. Key achievements include identifying catalysts for the destruction of chemical warfare agents, analyzing surface chemistry interactions under pressure, inventing nano gas cells, and conducting various deposition techniques in a cleanroom environment. Burcu K. holds a PhD in Chemical Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University, an MS from Boğaziçi University, and a Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering from the same institution, complemented by a foreign study program at Rice University. Prior internships include quality control and production roles at Bayer, Actavis, and TUPRAS.
