David Lee

David Lee is an experienced Systems Administrator currently employed at Diamond Light Source since January 2019. Prior to this role, David served as a Cloud Operations Engineer at Oracle for a brief period in late 2018 and spent nearly a decade at ECMWF as a Systems Programmer/Analyst, focusing on the maintenance and development of the ECFS data archive system. David’s career at Durham University spanned over 29 years, during which responsibilities included leading a team for UNIX/Linux services and architecting essential infrastructure for academic use. Additionally, David has a strong musical background, having served as the Director of Music at St. John's Church and as an Abbey musician at Iona Abbey during the 1970s. David holds an M.Sc. in Computing Science from Newcastle University and a B.Sc. in Geology with Geophysics from Durham University.
