Sky French has extensive work experience in the fields of software engineering and physics. They started their career at Pembroke College, Cambridge as a Drapers' Company Research Fellow, focusing on experimental searches for Supersymmetry at the Large Hadron Collider in CERN. They then moved on to work at Williams Martini Racing as an Aerodynamics Software Engineer and later as a Technical Lead Engineer in the Aero Software Group. Currently, Sky is with Diamond Light Source, where they have held various roles, including Senior Software Systems Engineer, Interim Beamline Controls Group Leader, and currently serving as the Head of Integrated Software Programme.
Sky French attended Withington Girls School from 1997 to 2004. Sky then pursued their undergraduate studies at the University of Cambridge from 2004 to 2008, earning a BA/MSci degree in Natural Sciences. Following this, they continued their education at the University of Cambridge from 2008 to 2011, where they obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Experimental Particle Physics.
